Welcome to the ASU accessibility audit example of the Pitchfork theme and related plugins. This site is maintained by ASU Engineering.
Background details
With the new Department of Justice ruling on web and mobile accessibility, ASU must ensure all web and mobile properties are compliant. Enterprise Technology is leading this initiative and as part of the effort, a manual accessibility test will be conducted on a number of products within the university.
ASU Engineering has created this site as dedicated environment for such an audit to take place. Represented within the pages and posts of this site are examples of the blocks and patterns that are typically used to create websites with this set of tools.
Results of the audit will be published here and within the Pitchfork support site so that progress can be measured as issues are reported and fixed in upcoming product releases.
The approach
- A Zen master visiting New York City goes up to a hot dog vendor and says, “Make me one with everything.”
- The hot dog vendor fixes a hot dog and hands it to the Zen master, who pays with a $20 bill.
- The vendor puts the bill in the cash box and closes it.
- “Excuse me, but where’s my change?” asks the Zen master.
- The vendor responds, “Change must come from within.”

Elements to be audited
Here are links to individual pages containing the elements to be tested within the accessibility audit. The pages are organized into four sections which include:
- core elements that have been modified by our theme
- blocks that have been added to represent elements from the Unity Design system
- additional blocks which deal exclusively with profiles from ASU Search
- blocks that ship with the core editor which we use as-is
